The 2026 ILACHE Scholarship

The Illinois Latino Council on Higher Education (ILACHE) is pleased to offer a $1,000 scholarship to Latino/a/x students in Illinois who exhibit outstanding commitment to leadership, community service, and learning. This scholarship is open to graduating seniors and undergraduate college students.

ILACHE is an action-oriented, independent advocacy group for Latinos/as in higher education advancing access and equity with respect to employment, college admission, representation, and educational legislation in the State of Illinois.

The Mission of Illinois LAtino Council on Higher Education (ILACHE) is to create an awareness of the issues impacting Latinos/as in higher education and to provide a statewide forum for Latino educators, community representatives, and other supporters for the social and professional advancement of Latinos. ILACHE is a statewide organization dedicated to improving the status of Latinos through educational policy reform, advocacy, identification of best practices, program development, and the dissemination of research and information.

The application and all supporting documents must be submitted to ILACHE by Friday, November 7th, 2025 by 11:59pm Central Time.

Please review the eligibility criteria prior to completing this application: 

  •  Must be an Illinois resident, future or continuing Latino/a/x undergraduate student, enrolled or planning to enroll in an Illinois higher education institution who has a current cumulative GPA of at least a 3.00 from a regionally accredited Illinois college/university or high school GPA of at least a 3.00 (on a 4.00 scale) or a 4.00 (on a 5.0 scale).
  • Graduating high school seniors (must be registered as a full-time student at an Illinois college or university in the Fall 2026 semester before the scholarship funds are disbursed).
  • Undergraduate students must be enrolled full-time during the Fall 2026 semester.
  • Students must demonstrate leadership, which can be seen in involvement in community service or leadership positions in school clubs or extracurricular activities.

  • Priority to first time applicants
  • The scholarship is non-renewable 
  • Must be enrolled or planning to enroll in an Illinois institution of higher education
  • Must attend conference in order to receive the scholarship
